Hello!
My name is Madyson Campbell and I am the current Region 2 representative on the Métis Nation of Ontario Youth Council. I am looking for your support in my re-election!
My Métis roots are in the historic Red River settlement. I was born and raised in Thunder Bay, where I currently reside as a first year medical student at NOSM University.

MNOYC Tea Series Co-Host
Tea Series with President Cassidy Caron of the Métis National Council (2021)
One of the highlights includes organizing and co-hosting an ongoing monthly tea series with President Margaret Froh since 2021, where we create a safe space for Métis youth to gather and discuss relevant topics. It has been an absolute privilege to connect with and learn from youth and featured guest speakers from across the homeland for the past 3 years!
2022 AGA Resolutions Committee
Métis Youth British Columbia Parliamentary Forum, Victoria, BC (2021)
I was elected to the resolution’s committee at the 2022 Métis Nation of Ontario Annual General Assembly, which, alongside legal counsel, reviewed special and ordinary resolutions to ensure they adhered to various rules and regulations before reaching the voting floor at the AGA.

You can view the comic book above!
I acted as a youth advisor on a project in collaboration with Ontario Health that developed a comic book entitled “Miyoo Kiikew; Well-Healed”, aimed to educate Métis people about the importance of cancer screening. I recently participated in a virtual reading of the comic book. You can find the link to the comic book here: https://www.cancercareontario.ca/sites/ccocancercare/files/assets/ON-Health-Comic-Metis-EN.pdf
Youth Wellness Baskets
I led an MNOYC initiative that distributed 75 wellness kits to youth across Ontario. The holistic kit included an MNOYC lapel sash, bannock mix, a grocery store gift card and a candle. The kits were curated with Métis youth in mind: including food to feed the soul, candles to create good intentions and a sash to represent of the strength of our nation.
Annual MNOYC Summer Youth Leadership Conference
I have played an active role in organizing the annual MNOYC Summer Youth Leadership Conference since 2021.
2022 Métis National Health and Climate Change Forum
I represented the MNOYC at the 2022 Métis National Health and Climate Change Forum, which focused on health policy, health solutions, and distinctions-based approaches to improving the health and well-being of Métis citizens across the nation. I attended presentations and participated in roundtable discussions, where I ensured the voices and perspectives of youth were heard. Ensuring our perspectives were heard in these discussions was critical, as these discussions directly impacted the development of Métis-specific health policy.
